WASTE MANAGEMENT AND MINIMISATION PLAN
As required by the Waste Minimisation Act 2008, the Council has
recently developed a draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan.
This was prepared following completion of a waste assessment which
considered current quantities and composition of waste and diverted
materials in the District, existing waste services, predicted future
demand for services and practicable options available for meeting
The Council at its meeting on Thursday, 9 December 2010 adopted the
draft plan and resolved to undertake the special consultative procedure
with a view to adopting a final plan in March/April 2011.
The draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan 2011/2017 is
now open for submission.
Copies of the Draft Plan and of the Waste Assessment carried out as
a precursor to the plan are available to view at the following places
during normal Office hours.

Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Creative Communities
Local Funding Assessment Committee for the purpose of allocating
Creative Communities Funds is scheduled to take place on 1 March
2011 in Chambers of the Far North District Council, Memorial Avenue,
