Gift car's a winner for Mere
Ready to go: Mere Poharama and friends with her new C grade
saloon car, a gift from speedway whanau.
It was a special day for
Mere Poharama on Sunday
when she was presented
with her new C grade saloon
car at Taipa Speedway.
Mere is the wife of the
late Percy Poharama and
was gifted the race car by
her speedway whanau.
The project was organised
by Geordie Inglis and many
speedway whanau from
northern clubs contributed
to the gift.
Mere had three wins from
three races in the new car.
A good field of super and
saloon cars provided great
action and excitement with
Terry Grigg taking the first
win of the day.
Max Andresen drove
superbly for 15 laps to take
the chequered flag in the
final feature all-in race.
Young Sonny Halliday had
his junior car out among the
C mens and showed
exceptional ability to come
second in the three rounds.

Kitto quickly came to grips

Paul and Ann Maree Sinclair
when their name was drawn
at Real Property Kerikeri
(RPK) estate agents on
December 1, winning them
the reimbursement of real
estate commission on the sale
of their property.
During September, October
and November the company
ran a campaign for the
chance to win a commission-
free sale for properties listed
and sold exclusively by them.
Sixteen properties went
into the draw with com-
missions ranging from $5750
to more than $21,000 and
there was a good gathering of
hopeful winners at RPK s
offices in Kerikeri.
An excited hush fell as
David Hannan, owner of
Kerikeri New World super-
market, drew the winning
property and the announce-
ment of Paul and Anne
